The Vantrue Pilot 2 (P2) Dashcam System is a dash cam with Apple CarPlay for owners of older vehicles, commuters and rideshare drivers. It adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to a vehicle that didn't come with them. It also records the road, the cabin and the road behind at the same time. A separate 6.25" display hub (1560 x 720 IPS touchscreen) runs the system. The windshield camera has no screen, so it stays small and out of the driver's line of sight.

Three views, one screen
The windshield unit holds a 1440P front camera and a 1080P cabin camera, and a separate 1440P rear camera covers the road behind. The front camera uses a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor with a 158° field of view, and the rear camera covers 165°. PlatePix helps keep licence plates readable in backlight and low light. The display can show one camera or all three at once.
CarPlay and Android Auto in an older vehicle
The touchscreen has built-in wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for navigation, music, calls and messages. HUD mode shows key driving information, and voice control works in five languages. The display has a built-in speaker and an auxiliary output, so audio can play through the vehicle's own sound system.
Safety alerts and parking
AI driver alerts warn of hazards on the road ahead. Four parking modes record while the vehicle is unattended in a lot or on the street. For parking coverage, the system is hardwired to the vehicle so it stays powered with the engine off. Parked clips download through the app like any other recording.
Fast downloads and GPS
Built-in GPS, housed in the windshield mount, logs route, speed and location with each recording for insurance claims and incident reviews. Wi-Fi 6 on 5GHz and the Vantrue app let owners view, download and share clips quickly, without removing the card. The system takes microSD cards up to 1TB.
Thermal upgrade for dark roads
The Pilot 2 works with Vantrue's Thermal Smart Module, a compact IP67 thermal camera that mounts on the hood or in the grille. It picks up heat from people, animals and vehicles in total darkness, fog, smoke and heavy rain, up to 100m (330 ft) away. The module is sold separately, or included in the P2 Thermal System and P2 Full System packages.
Buying and installing in Langley
VisionSure installs the Pilot 2 in Langley with the wiring hidden behind the trim and headliner. Parking mode needs a hardwire kit, which we can fit during the same visit. We provide an 18-month warranty and local support after the sale. Sold separately: hardwire kit, Thermal Smart Module (included in the P2 Thermal System and P2 Full System packages).
